“Ben Dover” (to bend over), is an object made to comment on our society: That we ́re too dependent on the chairs so that we no longer know how to use our bodies.
With the limit of 1500x150x250 beech (and nothing else) the assignment was to make a construction that could hold a person. I came up with this idea to bring awareness around how much time we spend sitting throughout the day. According to Norway’s healthcare webpage, Helsenorge.no we spend more than 60% of our time awake sitting.
My goal is to bring people up from their chairs and make them use their bodies in new challenging ways.
